Daniel D. Fanelli Jr.

June 12, 1946 – Oct. 15, 2019

Daniel D. Fanelli Jr., 73, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at his home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Daniel Sr. and Mary (Cafasso) Fanelli. He later married Mary Jane Branda.

Surviving are: his loving wife; a daughter, Nikki (Scott) Yost; two beautiful granddaughters: Macy and Laney Yost; a sister, Odette (Daniel) Ruggieri; a sister-in-law, Judy Branda; two nephews, Tony Branda and Daniel Ruggieri; a niece, Dominique (Ryan Swartz) Ruggieri; and a great niece, Linnea Swartz.

Dan was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Fanelli, and a brother-in-law, Tony Branda.

Dan was a 1964 graduate of Altoona High School and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. He worked as a sales representative for Feeser's Inc. 

He enjoyed his mornings, having breakfast with his good friends at Tom and Joe's. He also enjoyed Notre Dame football and especially loved watching his granddaughters' activities. 

He was a member of the Buccinese Society, the A&J Iaia Post 827, and was a Big Brother for many years. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at the Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors.
