Domenica ‘Mimi’ Johnson

Sept. 18, 1921 – March 2, 2019

Domenica “Mimi” Johnson, 97, a resident of Maybrook Hills Rehab­ilitation and Healthcare Center, passed away Saturday at the home.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Antonio and Jospehine (Trotta) Scarciapino.

Surviving are a daughter, Donna (John) Traficante, a son, William (Cathy) Johnson, and a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Johnson, all of Altoona; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Timothy and Jonathan Johnson; three sisters: Julia Pattie, Anna Carrieri and Bess Mott; and two brothers: Antonio LaPara and Peter Magaravi.

Mimi worked for many years as a waitress at Olivio’s and the Phoenix restaurant. She also worked at Veeder-Root Co. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Mimi enjoyed cooking, crocheting and yard work.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
