Jeanette R. ‘Jennie’ Campanaro

Jeanette R. “Jennie” Campanaro, 99, a resident of The Winds at Mattern Orchard, passed away
Friday
at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of Michael and Maria Nicole (Piccirilli) Campanaro.

Surviving are two nieces: Mary Ann Campanaro and Patty Kling, both of Altoona; a nephew, Patrick Campanaro in Virginia; three great-nieces: Michele Konitsky (Andrew), Stacy Kling and Jamie Hershey (Jeffrey); and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Cora Mascia, Mary DelMonte and Angeline Campanaro; and five brothers: Leonard, Tony, Domenick, Patsy and John. She was the last surviving member of her family.

She was a graduate of Altoona High School.  She was a homemaker and also worked at the Salvation Army, and she was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church.

Jennie was a kind-hearted person who always thought of others first. She enjoyed spending time with and cooking for family and friends, watching QVC and doing crafts with her friends at The Winds.

Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, in the Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Fr. Ron Osinski celebrant. Committal will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In memory of Jennie, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Blair Unit, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
