Jennie R. Pulcinello

Jennie R. Pulcinello, 96, Altoona, passed away Monday at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Ortenzio “Archie” and Donata (Faretta) Moschella. She married Nick Pulcinello, who passed away on Feb. 10, 2005.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Meintel and husband, Doug, of Altoona; a son, Joseph P. Pulcinello of Altoona; grandchildren: Erik Mentzer, Matthew and Paul Pulcinello, and Jim and Christine Meintel; two great-grandchildren: Dominic and Giana Pulcinello; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers: Michael, Arthur, Weddy, James, Archie Jr. and Bill Moschella, and Raymond Cecchine; and three sisters: Olga Coppeta, Mafalda Palmer and Dolly Mainelli.

Jennie was a 1938 graduate of Altoona High School. In the 1950s and ‘60s, she and her husband, Nick, owned operated Mo’s Lunch Diner. She spent many years volunteering for Easter Seals Society and Blair County Association for the Blind and Visually Handicapped. She was a member of St. Anthony Society, the Abruzzese Society Ladies Auxiliary, Buccinese Society Ladies Auxiliary and San Donato Society, as well as St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Altoona. She also enjoyed cooking, crocheting, socializing and spending time with her friends and family.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Altoona. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona
