Julius Iacurto

Julius Iacurto, 93, Altoona, passed away peacefully Monday at his residence.

He was born in San Giliano, Italy, son of the late Pasquale and Aurora (Peo) Iacurto. He was first married to Elizabeth Adams, who preceded him in death. He then was married to Evelyn Makovyak, who passed away on Feb. 22, 2016.

Surviving are 11 grandchildren: Matthew Seidel, Jason Seidel, Erin Johnston, Peter Seidel, Michael Iacurto, Caroline Iacurto, Jake Iacurto, Ajay, Ava, Dominic and Nicholas Dongell; eight great-grandchildren; and two stepsons, Robert and Richard Dongell.

He was preceded in death by two children: Julianne Seidel and Stephen Iacurto.

Julius was a Regional Administrator for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and served in the Navy during World War II.

He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, traveling, and attending Breakfast Club at the Waffle King.  He was also a member of the Lighthouse and Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public service. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home, Altoona.
