Nancy E. Bravin

Nancy E. Bravin, 90, died Sunday, May 6, 2018, at her residence in the presence of her loving children.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late John and Angelina (Favoccia) Fanale. On April 28, 1949, she married Louis E. Bravin at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona, and he preceded her in death in 2008.

Surviving are a son, John Bravin, with whom she resided; a daughter, Mary Bravin of Altoona; two sisters: Janice (Ted) McKillip and Anna (Paul) Balestino, both of Altoona; a brother, John (Christine) Fanale of Lancaster; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Fanale and his wife, Margaret.

Nancy was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School, and she was a devoted wife and mother. She held positions as a bookkeeper and secretary at several downtown Altoona businesses, and she retired from the medical records department at Mercy Hospital, Altoona. She was a devout member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona.

She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. today, May 8, 2018, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona, Father D. Timothy Grimme celebrant. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
