Ronald Leroy Uliano

July 28, 1937 – Dec. 13, 2019

Ronald Leroy Uliano, 82, Altoona, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, surrounded by his family at home.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Dominick and Linda (Frederick) Uliano. On Sept. 21, 1963, he married the love of his life, Sandra Hammel, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Surviving are his loving wife; his children: Sandy (Butch) McGeary, Becki (Bill) Ratchford, Linda (Chris) Lones and Ronald (Amy) Uliano Jr; eight grandchildren: Angela (Ryan) Yarnell, Megan (Brett) Weibley, Logan McGeary, Conner and Sean Ratchford and Luke, Chloe and Kallie Uliano; two great grandchildren: Elijah and Cecilia Yarnell; his siblings: Anita Deleo, Betty Friedenberger, Wanda (Jim) Weakland, Bonnie (Paul) Wagner and Tony “Harpo” (Harriet) Uliano.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Uliano; a sister, Shirley Gardner; a brother-in-law, Bob Deleo; and nephew, Jim Weakland.

Ron was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked 29 years at PPG industries. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Ron loved to fish, hunt and collect old bottles, McDonald’s toys and baseball cards. He loved watching old westerns and “American Pickers” and attending annual family Camp Blue Diamond trips. He was the heart of his family and his greatest joy was the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.

He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather (Pup) to his family.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, in the Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park with full military honors.
