Shirley A. Gardner

Feb. 8, 1945 – June 24, 2016

Shirley A. Gardner, 71, Alexandria, passed away Friday at J. C. Blair Memorial, Huntingdon.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Dominick and Linda (Frederick) Uliano. She married John R. Gardner.

She was a 1964 graduate of Altoona High School, and worked as a teacher's aide for the Juniata Valley School District.

Surviving are her loving husband of 49 years; two sons: Scott A. Gardner (Sterina) and J. John D. Gardner (Jill); four grandchildren: Bethany, Trevor (Jaselyn), Brittany and Devon; one great-granddaughter, Riley; four sisters: Anita DeLeo, Betty (Rupert) Friedenberger, Wanda (James) Weakland and Bonnie (Paul) Wagner; two brothers: Ronnie (Sandy) Uliano and Tony (Harriet) Uliano; two sisters-in-law: Pam (Bill) Robinson and Kathy Uliano; and her special pet, Tucker.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Uliano; brother-in-law, Bob DeLeo; and a nephew, Jim Weakland.

Shirley was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren. Her loved ones will always cherish their special memories of Hartslog Days.

A service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
