Stephanie Jo Kawtoski

Stephanie Jo Kawtoski of Altoona lost her valiant battle with a brain tumor Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at home surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of Joseph A. and Deborah K. (Riccio) Kawtoski.

Surviving are two children: Madison Rae and Aiden Xavier, both at home; three brothers: Adam J. of East Freedom, Luke J. of Seattle, Wash., and Tyler J. of Altoona; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.

Stephanie was a 1991 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School and graduated from Mount Aloysius College, Cresson, on May 10, 1997, with a medical assistant degree. She worked for 13 years as a medical assistant for Drs. Ramesh and Rakesh Chopra. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Stephanie loved going to the beach and spending time with her children and family. She enjoyed laughing, stand-up comedians, Seinfeld, and dolphins. She also was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan.

Friends will be received from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
