Virginia A. Fluke

March 31, 1922 - May 11, 2015

Virginia A. Fluke of Flinton passed away Monday at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of Giuseppe and Josephine (Piedilato) Lepore. She married Ralph I. Fluke on Dec. 27, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1991.

Surviving are a special niece, Joann Brunner of Altoona; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by five sisters: Elizabeth, Helen Marinnello, Mary DiVicoli, Anna Aleman and Lucille Rapinoe; and three brothers: Patsy, Daniel and Robert Lepore.

Virginia was a 1941 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired as a clerk in 1986 from Westfall Men's Shop and had previously worked at the Broad Avenue Tea Room. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Virginia served as a Eucharistic minister, and she loved flower gardening and animals, especially her dogs.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
