Amelia R. ‘Millie’ DeLeo-Dominick

June 15, 1928 – Dec. 17, 2016

Amelia R. “Millie” DeLeo-Dominick, 88, The Winds at Mattern Orchard, Duncansville, formerly of Altoona, passed away Saturday at the assisted living home.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of Frances­co and Fortunata Pellegrino. She was twice married, first to Anthony A. “Shorty” DeLeo, who passed away on May 31, 1975. She then married James N. Dominick, who passed away on Feb. 23, 2014.

Surviving are a son, Anthony “Tony” DeLeo and wife, Toni, of Altoona; two grandchildren: Jamie Hughes and Maryann Roush; and two great-grandchildren: Jacob Hughes and Addison Roush.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Alfred, Samuel and Mario; and a sister, Edith Hogancamp.

Millie graduated from Pruonto’s Hair Design Institute and worked at the Mary Hall Beauty Salon. She retired from DeLeo Games Co.

Millie was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where she was an usher and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the ladies’ auxiliary of the Buccinese Society and enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, during which a vigil for the deceased will be held, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at Santella Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
