Dolores R. Casciotti

Dolores R. Casciotti, 87, formerly of Altoona, passed away Saturday at Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of Michael and Theresa (Corrado) Laratonda. On April 12, 1947, she married Alfred Casciotti. He passed away on March 16, 1992.

She is survived by three sons: Father James Casciotti, S.J., of Baltimore, Md., David Casciotti of Amsterdam, N.Y., and John Casciotti (Abigail) of Arlington, Va.; five grandchildren: Dana, Amanda, Jenna, Julia and Sara; and a great-grandson, Colin.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Albert and James; and a sister, Carmel Gulino.

She was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School.

Dolores was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

She retired from the Units Department of Philips Inc.

Dolores loved and enjoyed her family, sewing, crocheting and playing cards, especially 500 rummy.

She was a member of Italian Sons and Daughters and a volunteer for many years at Bon Secours Hospital.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
