Donald E. Fazenbaker

Donald E. Fazenbaker, 70, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Vernon E. and Rose Marie (Deluga) Fazenbaker. He was married to Dotty M. Salyards.

Surviving are his loving wife; three daughters: Michele (Howard) Sloan; Jessica Fazenbaker (Joe Scacco); and Lisa Fazenbaker; a son, Dwayne (Lori) Baker; and three grandchildren: Daymon, Layla, and Jacob.

Donald was preceded in death by his brother, James Fazenbaker; his sister, Karen Fazenbaker; and two grandchildren: Matthew and Howard Sloan V.

Donald was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and worked for Blair Candy, where he was the vice-president of the paper division and small games of chance for 50 years. Donald was a hard-working man, but overall loved spending time with his family.

Donald served as a U.S. Marine in Vietnam, where he received a Purple Heart. He was very proud of his military service and to be a Marine.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, at Santella Funeral Home, Pastor Howard Sloan officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park with full military honors.
