Edmund DeCriscio

Edmund DeCriscio, 85, of Altoona passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Altoona, son of Michael and Florence (Pagelia) DeCriscio. He married Joanne Bogel on Jan. 4, 1949.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years; two daughters: Carol Adams and husband, Bill, and Anna Fochler and husband, Bob; a son, Edmund F.; and a brother, William DeCriscio, all of Altoona; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lannie; sisters: Nancy and Rose Sassano and Carmella Bozzarello; brothers: Frank, Warren, Louis, Joseph, Orlando and Salvadore; and by 13 half brothers and sisters.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Ed retired from the A&P Bakers and also worked at Weis Market.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Private 1st Class during World War II.

Ed enjoyed sports, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Buccinese Club and life member of the Bavarian Aid Society.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at the Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
