Joseph N. ‘Joe’ Peroni

Joseph N. “Joe” Peroni, 78, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly on Friday.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph and Rose Ann (Longo) Peroni.

Surviving are three sons: Joseph in Alabama, Bryan (Stacia) of Hollidaysburg and James (Bridget) in Georgia; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons; a sister, Lucy M. Horton of Altoona; three special nephews: D.J., Adam and Daniel, as well as other nieces and nephews; and two special friends: Dom and Judy Pierannunzio.

Joe was a graduate of Altoona High School, and he retired from Conrail.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona, as well as Swiss Rifle Club and Bavarian Aid Society. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, bowling, Pittsburgh Steelers football and playing the guitar.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2017, at the funeral home. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
