Marilyn J. Pietrolungo

Marilyn J. Pietrolungo, 82, Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Michael Carriere and Helen Dargan. On June 9, 1955, she married Vincent Pietrolungo.

Surviving are her loving husband; four daughters: Nancy Cashman (Cliff) of Hollidaysburg, Kathy DeVecchis (Art) of Boca Raton, Fla., Vicki Zerbee (John) of Duncansville, and Lori (Schroth) Pietrolungo of Hollidaysburg; a son, Vinnie Pietrolungo (Karen) of Duncansville; 13 grandchildren: Joe (Lindsay) Zerbee, John Zerbee, Jessica Barr (Shane) and Jill Zerbee, Zachary (Tiffany) DeVecchis and Benjamin (Betsy) DeVecchis, Casey Glass, Neil Schroth and Erica Schroth, Olivia Pietrolungo and Isabella Pietrolungo, Jennifer Walk (Paul) and Jessica Hetrick (Adam); 11 great-grandchildren: Hadley and Reagan Zerbee, Ellie and Colton Barr, Myah Glass, Aidan DeVecchis, Aleyha, Christian and Lucas Walk and Cortlan and Jackson Hetrick; and a sister, Nancy LaValle (Dale) in Wyoming.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Courtney Elizabeth; a brother, Mike; her stepfather, Ray Dargan; and her favorite aunt and uncle, Joe and Anna Carrieri, with whom she resided.

Marilyn was a graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Altoona. She was a loving wife and nana, not only to her own grandchildren but to many other children that she babysat for over the years. She enjoyed reading, word searches, embroidery and collecting clowns. She especially enjoyed cooking Italian meals for her family.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Altoona. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
