Paul G. Cassarly

Paul G. Cassarly, 86, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Paul E. and Mary E. (Sheehan) Cassarly. On June 27, 1953, he married Adaline C. Ivory.

Surviving are his wife; nine children: Linda Cassarly, Laurie Beckel, Cheri Tittler, Marianne Sinisi and Bob Cassarly, all of Altoona, Debra Marthinsen and Tom and Bill Cassarly, all of Gainesville, Fla., and Patty Cassarly of Wilson, N.C.; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mary E. Burns, Johanna Imboden and Sue Stitt; and two brothers: Richard A. Cassarly and James M. Cassarly.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Joseph and Donald.

Paul attended Altoona area schools. On Aug. 4, 1991, he retired as an electrician from Conrail after 39 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Altoona, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2016, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Altoona. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
