Rosie J. Caporuscio

February 19, 1929 – Oct. 23, 2019

Rosie J. Caporuscio, 90, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy (Ickes) Lear. She later married Amerigo Caporuscio Sr. and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1991.

Surviving is a son, Patsy Caporuscio; seven grandchildren: Amerigo III, Peter (Lisa), Marty, Mindy (Seth), Abby (Robbie), Mallory (Moose), and Gregg (Tanya); 12 great-grandchildren: Anthony, Aaron, Cecilia, Alex, Caitlin, Olivia, Sophia, Bella, Strummer, Giana, Kyla, and Lucy; 2 great-great-grandchildren: Ki’ and Ay’vion; two sisters: Doris “Cookie” and Julie Heiss; a brother, Marty Lear; a son-in-law, John Starr; and many nieces and nephews.

Rosie was preceded in death by a son, Amerigo Caporuscio Jr.; a daughter, Rosanne Starr; an infant daughter, Cecilia; two brothers: Walter and John Lear; and 3 sisters: Dorola Mountain, Nancy Lear, and infant, Waneitta Lear.

Rosie worked as an office supervisor for Tritex Sportswear. She loved crossword puzzles, attending church, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed volunteering at nursing homes and reading for the Blind Association.

She was a member of the Altoona Restoration Church of God.

Friends will be received from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, Friday, Oct. 25, 2019 at the Santella Funeral Home and from 10 until the 11am funeral service on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
