Rupert Friedenberger

Rupert Friedenberger, 79, Altoona, passed away Tuesday.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Casper and Theresa (Gramheller) Friedenberger. On July 8, 1961, he married Betty Uliano.

Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years; two daughters: Anita (Fred) Baumgartner and Bonnie Friedenberger, both of Altoona; two grandchildren: Andrea (Nick Mangini) Baumgartner of Pittsburgh, and Aryn (Chris) McGeary of Altoona; three great-grandchildren: Jackson, Nico and Penelope; one sister, Louise (Dave) Swonger; three brothers: Casper (Louise), Joe (Regina) and Frank Friedenberger; his grand-dog, Bailey; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Theresa Tongue and Mary Dodson; and five brothers: John, Max, Aloise, Eddie and infant Frank.

Rupert served in the U.S. Army Reserves National Guard. He retired from Huck Jacobson Co., and he had previously worked at Puritan.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona, as well as Bavarian Aid Society and Swiss Rifle Club. He loved gardening and working in his greenhouse.

Friends will be received from 9 until the 10:30 a.m. memorial service, Friday, April 14, 2017, at Axe & Santella Family Chapel, 1530 Fourth St., Altoona. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home, Altoona.
