He was born in Altoona, son of the late Philip and Donato (Soranio) Mainello.

Surviving are a brother, Joseph (Linda) Mainello in Florida; a sister-in-law, Bernadine Mainello; many nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Michael Mainello.

Pinky was preceded in death by five brothers: James, Patsy, John, Daniel and Philip Mainello; three sisters: Mary Curie, Carmella "Carmen" Mainello and Lucy Lamassaro; and a special niece, Debra Marie Mainello.

Pinky was a 1955 Altoona High School graduate and worked in the mailing department of the Altoona Mirror for 30 years.

He also served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed gardening. Pinky was a lifetime member of the UVA Club and the Buccinese Society.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
