Alvera M. Mascitelli, 93, Altoona, passed away Monday at the Altoona Center for Nursing.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Michael and Giacinta (Maroscia) Caputo. On May 15, 1948, she married Angelo J. Mascitelli and he preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 2002.

Surviving are a son, Joe Mascitelli and wife, Mary; and three grandchildren: Dave, Jeff (Lena) and Amanda.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Mascitelli; and was the last sibling of her family.

Alvera was a 1944 graduate of Altoona High School and worked for Puritan Sportswear during her senior year to help with the war efforts. She later became a homemaker for her family. In her earlier years, Alvera enjoyed bowling, crocheting, sewing and reading.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona.

Today our family says goodbye, but from now on we'll say "Until we meet again."

Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
