Alverna M. Decoskey, 93, of Altoona passed away Friday Jan. 1, 2016 at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Pasquale "Patsy" and Theresa (DeLorenzo) Lardieri. She married Bernard L. Decoskey and he passed away Dec. 17, 2002.

Surviving are her two loving children: A son, Dwight Stephen and wife Kay and daughter, Darla Decoskey and husband Daniel Contrafatto. Five grandchildren: Dwight Stephen II(Amy), Matthew(Julie) Decoskey and Alexandra (Anthony Miller), Katyana, and Aaron Contrafatto. Two great-grandchildren: Norah and Claire. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy "Peggy" Burns.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Aryanna Contrafatto.

Friends will be received at the 10:30 am funeral mass on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. In memory of Alverna donations may be given to Mount Carmel Church.
