Amelia F. Turchetta's Obituary
Amelia F. Turchetta, 97, Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (DeBono) Calabrese. On Aug. 26, 1943, she married Samuel Turchetta, and he passed away on June 12, 1990.Surviving are two daughters: Theresa Ann Nash in Colorado and Patricia L. Way of Altoona; six grandchildren: Lisa Siddall and Michael Godek, both in Michigan, Bryan Godek in South Carolina and Beth Evans, Lori Piper and Gina Way, all of Altoona; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the last surviving member of her family.
Amelia was a 1940 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired as a licensed practical nurse for Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona, Father Brian Saylor celebrant. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
