Bradley S. "Brad" McConnell, 54, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona.

Surviving are a son, Bradley J. McConnell; two stepdaughters: Rhonda (Brian) Detwiler and Christina (Mark) Henninger; a grandson, Brennan J. McConnell; seven step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; his parents; a sister, Erin N. McConnell; a brother, Christopher J. (Michele) McConnell; two nephews: Nicholas and Tyler; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend, Joley Fox.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey T.; his grandparents: George R. and Mary E. Parson and Fannie McConnell; and an uncle, George R. Parson Jr.

Brad was a 1980 graduate of Altoona Area High School and he served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a cyclist and rode in MS Bike Tours for many years. He also had a great love for music.

Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2017, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, at St. Therese of the Child Jesus, Altoona. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
