Surviving are his parents; a son, Malakai and his mother, Kayla McCulley; a sister, Rachel Futrell (Mohamed Baccouche); a brother, Elton Jr.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Franklin and Betty Yoder, and Ross and Narcissus Futrell; and a cousin, Chad Yoder.

Carlin was a 2010 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was employed by Lytle's Transfer and Storage Co. He enjoyed baseball, softball and football. Carlin was big, strong and tender - he was a gentle giant who was happy and full of life.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Altoona. Committal will be at Calvary C emetery, Altoona.
