Carly M. James, 44, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona after a courageous battle with brief illnesses. She was born in Altoona, daughter of William (Linda L.) and Linda J. (Rogers) Rice.

On Aug. 24, 2002, she married Eric A. James.

She is survived by her loving husband; her twin sister, Christy Rice; a nephew, Nathan Rice; and niece and nephew Sarah and Zach Manna. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Hayden Robert; a sister, Rachael Rice; paternal grandparents, Robert and Delores Rice; and maternal grandparents, Samuel and Rose Rogers.

Carly was a graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School and Penn State University. She worked as a child care provider.

She loved summer, especially spending time at the pool and beach, and spending time with family and friends.

A private visitation will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received at the 11 a.m. funeral Mass, Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
