C armella M. DeRubeis, 100, a resident of Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday at the home.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Addolorato and Nicola (Mignogna) Mignogna. She married L. "Deno" DeRubeis, and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1976.

Surviving are a son, Joseph (Joy) DeRubeis of Altoona; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Josephine DeRubeis.

She was preceded in death by a son, Alex DeRubeis; a sister, Florence Mignogna; and four brothers: John, Daniel, Joseph and Henry Mignogna. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Carmella retired as a cafeteria worker for Altoona Area School District.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona. She enjoyed playing card games with her grandchildren, cooking for her family, dancing and helping at the 4D's fish frys.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
