Caroline L. Rhodes, 91, Altoona, passed away peacefully Monday at her home.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Samuel and Louise (Sorge) Shultz. She married Cecil E. Rhodes on June 6, 1947.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 71 years; a brother, Daniel Shultz (Connie); a sister-in-law, Jane Shultz; and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kaye Rhodes; and a brother, Wilbur.

Caroline was a 1944 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked for Sealtest Laboratory and J.C. Penney and she also enjoyed being a homemaker.

She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Altoona, and of the Eastern Star.

Caroline was an avid artist and she enjoyed pinochle with friends. She was also fond of animals, especially her cats.

Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1401 12th Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation with the Rev. Dr. Barry R. Folmar officiating. Interment will be in Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
