He was born in Altoona, son of Charles T. Sr. and Marie (Roland) Bare. He married Sandra A. Giardino, who passed away Nov. 8, 2011.

Surviving are three children: Theresa (Frank) Livoti, Tom (Dawn) and Mary Louise Orr, all of Altoona; seven grandchildren: Lynsey, Kelsey, Anthony, Allison, Emily, Bradley and Amelia; two brothers-in-law: John Giardino and Anthony "Sonny" Giardino; an uncle, Denny Roland; and a cousin, John Roland.

Tom was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He retired as a pressman from Butterick. He faithfully attended St. Mark's Catholic Church and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Tom was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society and enjoyed bowling, Tae Kwon Do and spending time with his grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 13, 2015, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
