She was born in Altoona, daughter of Floyd A. and Leona B. (Prough) Honstine. She married William H. Crownover.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Scott A. of Altoona; a sister, Bonnie Gibboney of Altoona; two nieces; and a nephew.

Dee was a 1952 graduate of Altoona High School and attended Penn State University. She worked for Bell Telephone for many years.

Dee enjoyed tennis, softball and basketball. She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State. She loved her dog, Puff.

Friends will be received from 5:30 until the 7:30 p.m. memorial service Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, 1520 Fourth St., Altoona, the Rev. Evelyn Madison officiating.
