Obituary

Elaine M. Hauser, 54, Altoona, passed away Monday at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of D. Jean (Reese) Fochler and the late Edward Fochler. She married William C. Hauser on Sept. 24, 2005.

Surviving are her mother; her loving husband, Bill; her girls: Melissa Keith, Jessica Coon and Jamie Hauser; six grandchildren: Lydia, Marlee, Abram, Wyatt, Maxwell and Kruz; eight siblings: Mary Lilly (Joe), Karen Moser (Steve), Diane Dry (Skip), Joseph Fochler (Mary), Stephen Fochler (Sherry), Christine Scheinberg (Mike), Nancy Fochler (Missy) and Amy Palfey (Tom); 19 nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and great-nephews.

Elaine was a 1978 graduate of Altoona Area High School and a 1981 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Altoona Regional Health System. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altoona. She loved family time and her dog, Harty.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, 1520 Fourth St., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altoona, by Monsignor Timothy Stein. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ALS Association, Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 416 Lincoln Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15209.
