Helen F. Pagliara, 93, a resident of Hillview Healthcare& Rehabilitation Center, passed away Friday at the home.

She was born in Ganister, daughter of the late John and Mary (Verbonitz) Hanzir. On Nov. 26, 1955, she married Herb Pagliara, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1991.

Surviving are three sisters: Kathryn Spitz of Duncansville, Mary Scarfone of Norristown, and Angie O'Shell of Washington, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Hanzir; her stepfather, Matthew Verbonitz; and a stepbrother, John Verbonitz.

Helen worked at Vincent Horwitz Shoe Co. and retired from the bakery department at Riverside Market. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona, and she enjoyed bowling and bingo.

Friends will be received at a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 , at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home, Altoona
