Joan L. Iaia, 88, Altoona, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late James and Edith (Pompa) Finochio. On Nov. 26, 1949, she married Leo Iaia, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 2011.

Surviving are a sister, Frances Wagner in Indiana; two brothers: James and David (Teri) Finochio, both of Altoona; a special niece, Annetta (Pat) McClellan; and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and Donald Finochio.

Joan worked as a weaving instructor for Bomont Mills, retiring after 40 years of service. She attended Claysburg Bible Church, and she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and the pet dog, Buttons.

Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Pastor Keith Showalter officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
