She was born in Jeanette, daughter of Salvatore "Sam" and Concetta (Marrone) Possumato. She married Attilio "Joe" Martino on Sept. 15, 1950, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2007.

Surviving are a sister, Gloria Possumato of Altoona; two brothers: Daniel of Pittsburgh and Sam in Iowa; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Gregory Scott and Michael J.; and a grandson, Robert.

Josephine retired from the Social Security Administration as a claims representative. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, where she was also a member of Christian Mothers. She enjoyed bowling and was a former member of a bowling league.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2015, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by the Rev. Brian Saylor. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
