Karen A. Garman, 60, Altoona, passed away Friday at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Altoona.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Winnerl) Fusco.

Surviving are two daughters: Charity (Henry) Smith and Theresa Garman; two sons: Robert (Lindsay) Garman and Michael Garman; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Sharon) Fusco; a niece, Sarah; and a nephew, Christopher.

Karen was a 1976 graduate of Altoona Area High School and Altoona Area Vocational-Techical School. She was employed as a foster grandparent by Blair Senior Services, Altoona.

Because she had a love for animals, she served as a volunteer at Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, Hollidaysburg. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, to share special memories of Karen with her family.
