She was born in Mount Clemens, Mich., daughter of Dewey and Lucille (Dickinson) Deeds. On Oct. 23, 1976, she married Fred D. Iachini.

Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Fred; two sons: Chris Iachini (Kathleen) of Duncansville and Michael Iachini (Stephanie) of Altoona; two grandchildren: Kylene and Christopher Jr.; two sisters: Diane Ritchey and Michele Smith (Ed); a brother, James Deeds (Ellen); her father, Dewey Deeds; and her favorite pet dog, Thor.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille.

Karen was a 1971 graduate of Central High School.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
