She was born in Altoona, daughter of Strand and Alice (Keiper) Roessing. She married Joseph D. Ruggiero, who preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2004.

Surviving are four children: Polly Servello (Dave), Karen Kruise (Tom), Lisa Kenawell (Allen) and Joseph Jr., all of Altoona; nine grandchildren: Dr. David Servello of Aviano, Italy, and Joseph III, Jason and Justin Ruggerio, Kristal Pacifico, Mandi and Ashley Kruise and Kara and Robby Kenawell, all of Altoona; nine great-grandchildren; a sister: Barbara Murphy of Sarasota, Fla.; and two brothers: David Roessing of Altoona and Fred Roessing of Triangle, Va.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brad; and a brother, Robert.

Lois enjoyed working alongside her family at Family Pizza Restaurant for 20 years. She also enjoyed cooking, watching game shows and, especially, spending time with her family.

Lois will always be remembered for her generous heart and her willingness to put others before herself.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. today, May 17, 2015, at Santella Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015. Committal will be at Calvary Mausoleum.
