Mary Jane Pipetti, 90, a resident of Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at the home.

She was born in Pontecorvo, Italy, daughter of the late Alex and Anna (Giacombona) DePaolis. On Aug. 30, 1947, she married Gabriel J. Pipetti, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2005.

Surviving are four children: Connie (Terry) Curfman, Anita (Vince) Salvi, Jerry Pipetti and Marge (Jim) Schafer; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Himes; and a brother, Joseph DePaolis.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gabe; a daughter, Susan; a sister, Rose Himes; and a brother, Albert DePaolis.

Mary Jane was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School, and she later retired from Sylvania Electric and Benzel's Pretzels. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona.

She enjoyed holiday family gatherings, spending time with her family and being a caregiver to many. Mary Jane had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother and to the Divine Mercy of Jesus.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 18, 2018, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Altoona.
