She was born in Altoona, daughter of Luigi and Vincenza (Tricone) Castrichini. She married Strand S. Roessing in 1974. He preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1993.

Surviving are her brother, John Castrichini and sister-in-law, Carmel Castrichini, both of Altoona; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Emanuella Palomba and Mae Sardella; and four brothers: Luigi Jr., Thomas, James and Bart.

She was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School and completed two years at Penn State Altoona. She retired from Altoona Hospital as a cardiology technician and formerly worked as a school guard and at Hills and Ames department stores. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Mary enjoyed traveling and crossword puzzles.

Friends will be received from 9 until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at Santella Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Calvary Mausoleum.
