He was born in Altoona, son of John M. Pattie and Tamara Knisley.

Surviving are his parents; three children: Alexis, Michael and Marisah; a sister, Ashley; three brothers: Brett, Travis and Jon Adam; his grandmother, Sandra McFarland; his stepmother, Gloria Pattie; two stepbrothers: Gordon Shaffer and Fred Morris Jr.; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Michael was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and worked for Union Roofing Co. He enjoyed spending time with his children.

A private service was held at the convenience of the family.
