Ralph A. Covino, 91, Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Sabato and Rose (Pinto) Covino.

He is survived by a sister, Christine Raia; and several nieces and nephews.

Ralph was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Minnie Iavasile and Josephine Ciaverella; and 5 brothers: Alfonse Covino, George, Nick, Carl and Lou Maria.

Ralph served in the United States Army and with the military police. He later retired as a dietary aide from the Veteran's Hospital. He enjoyed going to the gym and co-owned Alfie's Bar with his brother, Al.

Friends will be received from 3pm to 5pm on Monday, January 20, 2025 in the Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with military honors. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
