Roy W. Radel, 87, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Frank and Arvilla (Lafferty) Radel. He married Rosemary (Carey) Radel and she preceded him in death in 2005.

Surviving are a daughter, Roxanne Longo and husband, David, of Danville; two sons: John Radel and wife, Pam and Michael Radel, all of Altoona; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Nelson Radel of Altoona.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Hoover; and a son, Steven Radel.

Roy was a construction laborer and held many different jobs. He was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan, and he enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
