Ruth A. Fatigante, 97, Altoona, passed away peacefully on her birthday Thursday at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Wilbur and Alice Bigelow. She married Joseph F. Fatigante on May 25, 1949. He passed away May 23, 1996.

Surviving are a son, Joseph (Pam) of Altoona; a daughter-in-law, Linda; six grandchildren: Dawn Sutter, Jody (Mike) Seiler, Corry (Amanda) Fatigante, Michael, Zachary and Tyler Fatigante; and three great-grandchildren: Sabrina and Nathan Sutter and Maddalena Seiler.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael.

Ruth was a graduate of Altoona High School. She worked at Pappas Pie Company and Pacifico Bakery.

Ruth was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She loved baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
