He was born in Altoona, son of David J. and the late Jo Ann (Hayes) Gehret.

Surviving are a daughter, Adalyn Rose; his father; a sister, Megan (Chad) Albright; two brothers: Cameron and Brent Gehret; his grandmother, Nancy Hayes; a niece, Aubreigh; and his best friend, Zach Barr.

Tyler was an Altoona Area High School graduate and worked for Lytle's Moving and Gearhart's Moving and Storage. He played Junior and Senior High School football. and he also helped as an assistant coach for Little League football and basketball.

Tyler enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and four wheeling.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the noon memorial service Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at the Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St., Altoona. Santella Funeral Home.
