He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late William J. Sr. and Naomi J. (Geist) Lantz. On Aug. 4, 1978, he married Catherine B. Arend.

Surviving are his loving wife of 37 years; four daughters: Stephanie (Ron) Keller of Altoona, Angela (Michael) Delozier of East Freedom, April Holley and Cassandra Dively, both of Duncansville; two sons: Patrick (Georgia Star) of Kingsland, Ga., and David (Charlotte) of Newry; and 10 grandchildren.

William was a graduate of Central High School, where he was president of the Art Club. He retired from working as a boiler operator at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. He loved camping and oil painting, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Friends will be received for a celebration of life from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at Kings Family Restaurant, 3001 Sixth Ave., Altoona. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home, Altoona.
