William J. McConahy, 65, Altoona, passed away Sunday at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.

His parents were the late William and Rose (Ivory) McConahy.

Surviving are two children: Ryan and Heather McConahy and their mother, Vickie Richards; a sister, Diane (Jeff) Stahl of Altoona; a brother, Ed (Rose) McConahy of Altoona; and his lifelong friend and business partner, Rod Patterson.

William was an Altoona Area High School and vo-tech graduate. He worked for McConahy and Patterson Construction, Fleck's, Ward Trucking, Economy/Gateway Foods and the Altoona Area School District.

He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, canoeing and woodworking. William was a sports fan of hockey, football and baseball. He was also a member of the Concordia Singing Society.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, Monsignor Robert Mazur officiating. A graveside committal will be held at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
