William Elliott "Woody" Wood, 85, of Altoona, passed away peacefully at home with family on Tuesday.

William was born to William and Ruth (Pennington) Wood of 717 Eighth Ave., Altoona.

Surviving are his wife, Emily (Iacovetti) Wood; sons: Craig, Scott (Tara) and Gregory (Anne); a daughter, Kelly; grandchildren: Scott, Alex, Sophia, Eli, Lauren, Brayden, Kara and Primm; nieces, Lori (Rick) of Las Vegas and Hannah; nephews: Howard and Johnny.

He was predeceased by his brothers: Howard and John; three sisters: Beatrice (Kratzer), Ruth (Anzalone) and Betty (Ackroyd); and his nieces: Lisa Lafferty and Lisa Anzalone.

Woody was a 1954 graduate of the Altoona High School and served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves from 1956-62. He was a dedicated employee at Dunmire Printing Co. (Harry Miller) for 45 years and loyal husband and loving father.

There will be no viewing or services at the request of the deceased.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one of many charities that support veterans as well as organizations that are developing cures for macular degeneration and prostate cancer.
