Adelia Ann Ross, 99, Altoona, passed away peacefully Saturday at home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Salvatore (Sam) and Mary Frances (Cerminaro) DeFrancesco. She later married Jack Busby Ross Sr. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and he preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1986.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Frances (Joe) Inman; two sons: William (Patty) Vaughn Ross and Jack Busby (Marina) Ross Jr.; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Leasure; and a brother, Carl DeFrancesco.
She was preceded in death by 7 siblings: Rose McGuire, Joe DeFrancesco, Lou DeLacruz, Frank DeFrancesco, Pat DeFrancesco, Anthony DeFrancesco, and Sam DeFrancesco.
Adelia was a high school graduate and worked as a mender at Puritan Sportswear. She also worked for Westinghouse, Sylvania, Easter Seals, and Lily Pond.
Adelia was a member of the St. Anthony Association, the A&J IaIa Post and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, great, and great-great grandchildren.
At the request of the deceased, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
