Albert James Pietrolungo, 76, Pittsburgh, formerly of Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Shadyside. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Albert Vincent and Catherine Marie (Santina) Pietrolungo. He later married Georgia Hope (Walker).
He is survived by his loving wife; two sons: Philip Andrew and Patrick Albert; 4 grandchildren: Zachary, Chelsie, Taylor and Hunter; 3 great-grandchildren: Landon, Ezra and Rylee; a sister, Sandra Jean; two nieces, Crissy and April; and 5 nephews: Paul, Greg, Matt, Adam and Jamieson.
Albert received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pitt and a Master’s Degree from St. Francis University. He worked as a social worker for the state of Pennsylvania and retired from the National Labor Relation Board.
He enjoyed chess, darts and bowling and was a member of the US Chess Federation of the Blind Division.
Friends will be received from 5pm to 7pm on Sunday, Decemeber 29, 2024 in the Santella Funeral Home. A graveside committal will take place at 1pm on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Calvary Cemetery.
