Allen T. Butterbaugh Jr., 75, Altoona, passed away Sunday at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Gallitzin, son of the late Allen and Susie (Tonarelli) Butterbaugh Sr. He later married his loving wife, Linda Balestino.
He is survived by his loving wife; two sons: Allen (Maureen) Butterbaugh and Brian (Brooke) Butterbaugh; two daughters: Kim (Rick) Wilt and Tina (Tim) Barton; 10 grandchildren: Brittany, Ashley, Jacob, Mitchell, Zachary, Ava, Lilly, Julia, Brockton, and Braylon; two great-grandchildren: Chloe and Carter; and a sister, Roxann (Ardell) Ball.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Catherine (John) Stoskey; and his in-laws, William and Mary Balestino.
Allen was a graduate of Gallitzin Joint High School and earned multiple Penn State Business Certificates. He served in the Army Reserves and was a United States Navy Seabee with two tours in Vietnam. After serving, he worked for Conrail/Norfolk Southern and retired after 35 years.
Allen was President of the Cesare Battisti Club, a member of the Bavarian Aid Society, Swiss Club, VFW, and American Legion. He loved spending quality time with his family.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Friends will be received from 11am to 1pm Friday, June 3, 2022 in the Santella Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1pm Friday, June 3, 2022 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
